Laser Genesis Skin Rejuvenation

Why Do We Get Wrinkles?

Time, air pollution and sun exposure lead to unwelcome changes of your skin texture, color and elasticity. As damage occurs, the outer layer of skin, the epidermis, becomes thicker and the inner layer, the dermis, becomes thinner. The production of collagen and elastin fibers slows down. Fine lines, enlarged pores, and thick roughened skin appear. The goal of any skin rejuvenation technique is to turn over the skin more rapidly, to thin down the outer layer and stimulate the inner layer to increase the production of collagen and elastin fibers.

What does it do?

Laser Genesis does something completely unique in the skin rejuvenation area. It is proven to not only minimize fine lines but also to reduce large pores, uneven, crepe-paper type or pebbled skin texture, and overall redness and flushing.

How does it work?

We use the CoolGlide Laser to gently heat the skin below the surface. This “healthy heat” stimulates the body’s own natural healing response, and the texture of your skin literally becomes smoother. Depending on what you are having treated, pores get smaller, lines are decreased as your underlying collagen is refreshed, and the color of your skin will even out. We will discuss this with you thoroughly when you come in for your consultation.

How many treatments will I need?

People and conditions will vary in the way they respond, based on their skin biology. Typically we recommend a series of four to six treatments to optimize results.

What does it feel like?

Laser Genesis is very comfortable. It is sometimes called the warm laser facial. You will feel a warming sensation on your skin as the handpiece is slowly moved back and forth about a half-inch above your skin.

What can I expect afterwards?

You can return to normal activities immediately. You may be flushed from the heat but that will disappear within a few hours of treatment. Individual treatment results are often subtle but the overall effect over time with multiple treatments can be quite dramatic.

Is it safe?

Yes. Hundreds of thousands of Laser Genesis treatments have been done to date with no adverse effects. As with all medical procedures, there is a slight degree of risk, and we will discuss this with you thoroughly when you come in for your consultation.

Can anyone have it done?

Yes. Adults of all ages and all skin types can benefit from Laser Genesis and can have it done year round. We can even treat tanned skin.
